What is the proposed Canadian grants for solar panels to home owners in the April 2024 budget and when will they become effective after the budget is passed? How will this compare to the cancelled solar grants ended in February 2024?

There are no confirmed grants proposed in the 2024 budget to replace the rebate that was removed in February. This is a stark difference from the original program which provided a $5000 grant and a $40,000 interest free loan. The loan is still available, but we are unsure as to when the loan will no longer be available. Our recommendation is to take advantage of the programs available now, before they’re gone.
