Solar in Vaughan:
Discover how much you can save by installing solar panels on your Vaughan home.
The average Ontario homeowner may spend about $6.20 CAD per kilowatt hour. This is near twice the cost of hourly electricity as last year. Many people choose to install solar panels in Vaughan so as to offset the tremendous spike in costs.
Solar panels in Vaughan have been proven to reduce up to 100% of overall energy costs, and the installation process takes short of a week. Ontario uses a TOU plan, which can be good or bad depending on the time of day you use electricity. For residents who go solar, you can cut down on your electricity costs and not have to worry about when.
On top of the money saved through electricity costs, homes with solar power systems have been demonstrated to have a higher resale value than homes without these systems. A typical solar system can be easily financed for roughly the same cost as the average homeowner’s power bill, except these payments will never increase and end once the financing term is over. Power bills, on the other hand, always increase and must be paid forever.
Many countries and provinces are beginning to offer rebates, tax credits, and other incentives for homeowners that opt to go solar as well, greatly encouraging residents to swap out their traditional grid-dependent power systems for solar.

What happens during a solar installation in Vaughan?
Typically, your average solar panel system installation will involve a quoting phase, wherein you offer information about your home. Afterwards, we’ll do a site assessment, where we’ll visit your home and check the direction of your roof (to see how much sunlight it receives), plus we’ll find out the electrical capacity of your home.
Next, it’s the design and permitting stage. CMI creates accurate designs for your solar system and secures any necessary permits you require.
Then, we get the equipment and do the installation. You’ll be kept in-the-loop for each phase of the installation process.
How long does a solar panel battery last?
While the lifespan of a solar battery tends to depend on the type of battery, who manufactured it, how much of its capacity is used, and how many times it is discharged/charged, it generally will last between 10-15 years. Considering solar panels last between 25-30, you’ll almost definitely have to replace your solar battery at least once during this time.
Do solar panels work at night?
Solar panels don’t technically generate any electricity during the nighttime when the sun is down They need direct sunlight to convert sunshine into energy. So, during this period, electricity is not being produced but some systems will be fixed with batteries that can provide power during a time where the sun is down, or doing an extended power outage.
Do solar panels work in the rain?
Solar panels can work in the rain, yes. Rain can even help to keep solar panels clean, thereby improving their efficiency. That being said, a solar panel system equipped with solar batteries can still power a home.
How often do you have to clean your solar panels?
How frequently you may need to clean your solar panels in Vaughan is dependent on location-specific factors, such as weather conditions, the slant of the roof, and the type of panels your home has installed. It tends to be that area which are prone to accumulating higher levels of dust, airborne particles, and grit may require more cleaning, and panels that are located in areas with higher precipitation are often the subject of hard-to-remove residue. Panels in areas with less precipitation and less air pollution may only need to be cleaned 1-2x a year.
Still, however “dirty” or “clean” your environment, it’s a good idea to do an inspection of your panels at least once per every quarter and clean them whenever you see an issue. A quick visual inspection is all it takes to see if your panels are accumulating enough light to generate electricity for your home.
As an added, CMI Solar will also send a technician to your home once per year to inspect your system and clean your panels.

Great customer service and they kept their word!!! CMI Solar communicated where we were in the process of getting our panels, what step was next AND time frames in which we could expect things to happen. If we had any questions, they always promptly answered our calls. The guys who came to install the panels and came for inspection were very nice, respectful and prompt. I honestly couldn’t say anything bad about CMI Solar. We’re also happy that we chose to go solar with them.
